Notes:

-This is basically an '84-'94 chevy s-10 blazer. I don't know the exact year of the pictures i used, but the instrument cluster for the dash was off an '89, so that's what i'm calling it.

-Since it is a police version, i chose to drop a 350 engine in it, as the front badge displays (5.7L). This gives it more power and torque. Speaking of torque, I tuned it to have virtually no slip on the rear wheels. Climbing the hills in ORM should not be a problem, even when damaged.

-The automatic transmission has 4 gears, as does the manual. The difference is the first gear in manual is very high, sometimes called a "granny gear", allowing the vehicle to climb almost anything it can get the back wheels on at any time at any damage level. For better takeoffs in manual start in 2nd gear.

-The top speed is in the mid 140 range, which i believe an ungoverned 350 can accomplish. I didn't use a stopwatch, but 0-60 is between 6-7 seconds, and 0-100 is in the 12 second range. This is because of the high early gears and no wheel slip. The braking is fairly normal, unless you hit the handbrake. Then the massive grip on the back wheels is felt. As far as i know, it I created this vehicle for ORM, and is best used on it.

-This is one of the first vehicles to use night textures. It prevents the "bouncy headlight" effect when damaged, and the lights get completely knocked out when damaged.

-The sounds are accurate for a 350 engine, they were recorded from a '94 silverado. The selection screen sound is from mm, and suits it well.

Known Issues:

-The reverse lights are "in" the model. I don't know why this is, I moved them back several times in max but they never moved in game, and I wasn't going to spend the time to re-export everything to correct it.

-The lights don't look lit up at night sometimes. The lights uses shadows like everything else, so when you turn to the shadowed direction it may look like they're not on, but they are.

-Software rendering is not supported. If i get enough complaints I may consider adding it in future releases.

Thanks to:

-Paul, Cuda, and DoubleR for all their help and beta testing.

-Cuda for suggesting night textures, they turned out great.

-Anybody who made suggestions on making it better, i forget exactly who said what.

What's Next?

A few things. Still need to get the pace car done, shouldn't be too much longer. Hopefully i can start on a '98-'02 model ram air trans am soon. I've already started on a late model dirt track car for the dirt track in ORM, more on that later..
